Objectives

The general objectives of the nZEM project can be summarized in the following points:

• containment of energy consumption of modular buildings intended for the residential sector;
• achievement of European RES supply targets;
• promotion of entrepreneurial development from a 4.0 perspective;
• development of new market segments inspired by Circular Economy concepts;
• reduction of the environmental impact of processes and products;
• increase in the competitiveness of the companies involved;
• job creation.

In detail, the research project, lasting 12 months, is divided into the following Operational Objectives (OO):

• OO1, aimed to manage the research project of all activities related to disseminating research results both during and after its conclusion. One of the sub-activities of this OO is the optimization of the production processes of the companies involved through the management of the production of the various components and systems and their integration into the modular system with the aim to reduce the environmental impact of the module from the perspective of the objectives of Industry 4.0;
• OO2, aimed at the design, validation, and virtual implementation of the transparent envelope systems that will be integrated into the nZEM module;
• OO3, aimed at the design, validation, and virtual implementation of the plant systems that will be integrated into the nZEM module to ensure energy independence and indoor comfort;
• OO4, aimed to realize and validate the project and create the virtual model of the prefabricated wooden housing module with an innovative integrated envelope and technological components developed in the previous phases.
